Check Android and Ethernet
Surfshark normally requires Android 7+. Its guide says Ethernet is unsupported on Android TVs running Android 9 or 12. Check your device’s actual version.
Install, sign in, connect

1. Install
Find the official Surfshark app in Google Play. If unavailable, use the provider’s official download instructions.

2. Sign in
Use your existing account and the QR or login code shown on the TV. Keep the code private.

3. Connect
Accept the Android VPN request if you want to connect. Choose the recommended location.

4. Verify
Wait for Connected, then test your intended app on the box.
Instructions follow Surfshark’s Android TV guide. Menus and compatibility can vary with firmware.
If you use Ethernet
Compare your Android version with the compatibility note above. Ask Surfshark support about an undocumented combination before purchasing.
If an app stops working
Compare another app and note the selected VPN location and error. Testing with the VPN disconnected uses a connection outside the VPN. If the issue remains, use the network checklist.
